You’re Grounded, You Need a Weight Loss Retreat Time Out!

By Unite Fitness Retreat Dietician, Brooke Bouwhuis, RDN

Whether you are from the generation who was “grounded” when you misbehaved or not it is still an effective strategy for getting life’s challenges straightened out.

I was grounded many times as a child for doing things that were dumb.  Once I was grounded for driving a stomper truck through my little sisters long blond hair.  Her hair was tangled tightly around the wheels of the little motorized toy and there was no unraveling the mess.  My mom cut my stomper out of her hair, stomped on it to destroy the toy and sent me to my room, grounded.

Grounding (or a time out) is a time to reflect on life’s choices.

Ever feel like you could use some time to reflect on the choices you have made, re-align what you want, or just get your feet back on solid ground so you can march forward with more confidence and direction?

Unite Fitness Retreat is a place to do just that.  It’s a safe place to take a time out, reflect on choices you have made and a deep breath from the routine of your day.

You don’t have to share more than you want to.  You don’t have to explain a darn thing to anyone.  You don’t even have to do all the work outs – but you bet we will encourage you do so.  You go at your pace surrounded by staff who will support you every step of the way.

We listen. We encourage.  We laugh.  We cry.  We hope.  We help.  We cheer.  We want to be part of helping you become whole again.  We worry about you.  We adore you.

Some clients come to our weight loss retreats with simply wanting to be pushed to their limits to see what they can accomplish.  They come asking for this at 78 years young and 18 years new.

Most would like to see weight loss and fitness gains.  They also come because they need to take a deep breath after serious medical treatments for conditions no one wants to be ever told they have.  Some come to learn how to eat cleaner, stop smoking, stop drinking or stop turning to heavily addictive junk food to dull the pain of life’s challenges.

In hindsight, driving my stomper through my sister’s hair was a terrible idea.  It was mean, my sister had a clump of weird hair for a long time and my mom smooshed my toy.

We aren’t mean.  We aren’t a terrible idea.  We are driven and love what we do whether it’s coming from a trainer, health coach, chef or dietitian.  We want to help.  We want to see you feel more confident in your own skin.  We want you to achieve whatever you need to achieve at our weight loss retreats.

Come spend some time with us, it’s a choice you won’t regret!
