What Happens After I Leave the Weight Loss Camp?
Perhaps you’ve made the decision to attend a weight loss camp for adults or maybe you’re still considering the benefits of getting away from your environment to make THE CHANGE. Either way, questions we get prior to people coming are “How will I maintain my weight loss after I leave the fitness camp?”, “Will the weight come back if I’m not exercising 6 hours each day?” “What happens when I go home?”
These are all valid questions. 95% of our weight loss camp alumni MAINTAIN their weight loss within the first year of being home (data taken from past alumni surveys). This is excellent news!
How do you maintain the weight loss (and continue getting in amazing shape)?
#1 Continue with the eating plan established while at camp. Over 75% of your success will be your nutrition plan and sticking to a healthy eating plan at home. This means keeping you calories around the same amount you consumed at camp and eating 6 times a day to keep your revved up metabolism working hard for you.
#2 Continue exercising. Of course not for 6 hours per day, let’s get real! We know you have lives and are busy. But, you do need to make exercise a priority and get in at least one hour of cardio in 5 days a week and strength training at least 2 days a week. You need to remember to stretch and sneak in exercise throughout each day, like walking at lunch and/or after dinner. You also need to maximize your time at the gym, use HITT training and other high intensity workouts to get the most bang for your exercise buck.
#3 It doesn’t hurt to hire a personal trainer to hold you accountable. At our weight loss camp, you’ll have been given a kick-start unlike any other. You will have started the cycle of weight loss, which is often times the hardest thing to do. When you get home, it would be a great idea to find a trainer you love and meet with them once a week, this is to help you stay accountable and motivated. You can share with them what you’ve accomplished on your weight loss journey and work together to reach more fitness goals.
#4 Participate in the after-care program following your fitness camp. Help is a phone call away if you feel like you are slipping into old habits.
